What is iCloud lock?

ICloud lock is an additional security feature for iOS devices. It’s also called Find my iPhone (IMF) and protects Apple devices from unauthorized use. It is recommended that you check this status when buying a second-hand phone. If protection (LOST status) has been activated and you do not know your login details and password – you will not be able to use this iPhone or iPad.

What is FMI clean and FMI Lost and FMI off?

IMF: Clean” means that your iPhone is currently associated with an iCloud account.

You’ll need your iCloud account username and password to restore your iPhone. If the iPhone is second-hand, ask the owner to turn off Find My iPhone and iCloud account.

– IMF: Lost

“IMF: Lost” means that your iPhone is currently associated with an iCloud account and has also been identified as reported or stolen by the Find My iPhone app.

“IMF: OFF” means your iPhone doesn’t have Find My iPhone turned on, so you don’t need an iCloud account password to reset it to factory settings.
